November 9th, 2018 - First stakeholder meeting - INVALIS

The first stakeholder meeting organized by the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency within the INVALIS project took place at the Hilton Hotel, on November 9th, 2018.

The main discussions were structured to emphasize both the objective of the INTERREG program and the project itself.

The main topics:

- presentation of the INTERREG EUROPE program;

- presentation of the INVALIS project - Protecting European Biodiversity from Invasive Alien Species;

- discussions on the current situation regarding the barriers related to the improvement of regional development, policies in the field of protection and development of the natural heritage of the Bucharest-Ilfov region;

- discussion session: Current situation and future perspectives on barriers related to cooperation between public authorities and local stakeholders directly interested in addressing the challenges associated with invasive alien species in the Bucharest-Ilfov region:

- programmatic documents, national and European regulatory framework;

- understanding and identifying the barriers and key elements that help stop the decline of biodiversity and protect the EU's ecosystems, making an essential contribution to the sustainable management of the natural environment;

- conclusions and future actions.

The event brought together 20 participants from public institutions, SMEs, research institutes, universities and NGOs.

The discussions were very productive and those who attended were impressed by the theme of the project.

From the feedback of the participants, we can appreciate that the event was useful and dynamic, it provided new ideas, it was efficiently organized and carried out and also very interesting.
