e-MOPOLI - Electro MObility as driver to support POLicy Instruments for sustainable mobility

e-MOPOLI is a partnership project funded by the Interreg Europe Program, comprising nine regions of the European Union, to improve specific regional policies on reducing carbon footprint caused by transport and logistics activities in urban areas and extra-urban.

Alternative fuels and electromobility are an excellent opportunity to reduce the carbon footprint generated by economic activities in urban and extra-urban areas. The e-MOPOLI project thus aims to contribute to an efficient distribution of electricity or alternative fuel based mobility by improving a set of nine regional policy instruments, six of which are closely linked to Structural Funds in Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Romania and Lithuania.

e-MOPOLI seeks to harmonize and improve regional policies so that sustainable measures for sustainable transport across Europe can be adopted.

The project runs from June 2018 to November 2022 and includes the following partners:

Province of Brescia - Partner Leader
Calabria Region Infrastructure department n.6
Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska, BSC, Ltd, Kranj
Region of Attica
Flemish government Department of Environment
Regional Council of Kainuu
Rogaland County Council
Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency

In order to meet the main objective, the partners undertake to focus on a number of key areas of activity: taxation and taxation policies favoring the purchase of electric vehicles, developing charging infrastructure fueled by alternative energy sources, integrating charging stations into space planning, the purchase of electric vehicles for public transport and the promotion of electro-mobility in commercial niche sectors using car fleets. (eg taxi companies, logistics).

The total budget is 1,792,053 euros, of which the budget of the Regional Development Agency Bucharest - Ilfov is 150,000 euros.
